This blog is mostly just going to be an update of sorts. I’ve been learning a lot in the past week so I’ll try and cover most of it without dragging on.

Welcome week officially ended on Monday. Everybody say “YAY!” Welcome week was awesome, but I’ve been ready to get into things. I’ve begun apprenticing in the logistics department at the office. I’ll be working with the regional directors of Africa and Southeast Asia, vetting potential hosts to take World Race teams. I’ll probably do some other stuff here and there as well, but this is what I know so far. I’m looking forward to see how God works on this side of the missions trips instead of on the field!

I’ve also started missions track. We’ll be learning more about long-term missions and doing ministry cross-culturally. Along with that, we take a class on Thursday nights called “Perspectives” that goes more in depth with long-term missions. The class has been amazing so far. I love the speakers and the stories they share as well as their heart for different people around the world.

We also have a few courses throughout the week. I’m taking a class called “Calling” once a week that will go deeper into the passions God has given me and what I can do and where I can go with those passions.

I know this might be a lot of information, but I haven’t been able to explain to people what I’m doing too much because I haven’t known the specifics until getting here. Everybody cheer for specifics!

Anyway, God has been showing me a lot about myself since being here and I’m looking forward to sharing how He works through me and through others during my time here in Gainesville.

P.S.

I’m participating in lent! I’ve given up all drinks that aren’t water. The only exception is the milk I bought last week. I’d rather not be wasteful so I’m going to finish that off. Lent can be awesome so maybe think about something you want to give up for 40 days. You do you. Peace.
